Jim Allison has been with
Safer since 1993. He is a twenty-three year veteran of the New Mexico State Police, having retired as a Captain. Jim has experience managing the activities of law enforcement and civilian personnel; supervising the operational and administrative functions of a five-county district; and implementing innovative public safety and education programs. He is also proficient in preparing and managing budgets in excess of seven million dollars. Jim is responsible for coordinating and negotiating contracts with police agencies participating in ODWI and Operation Buckle Down, ensuring that each agency accomplishes tasks as negotiated. Jim conducts statewide seat belt surveys, which are ultimately used to determine the use-rate in New Mexico. Additionally, Jim is a skilled, certified instructor through the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy and is certified by Safe Kids Worldwide to teach the NHTSA Standardized Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technician and Operation Kids curricula. He also serves as a CPS senior technician and participates in car seat inspection events around the State.
